Legend of Zelda, LINK

It was time to do a video game sketch!

Iron Man on a plane

I had a nice child behind on me on flight so I did a Iron Man pen sketch for him

Disney bought Starwars

I dont like this one that much but I had to draw Mickey Skywalker

Spiderman

Now I am rolling and have been sketching lots of different stylized Super Hero. I love Spiderman, why not draw him in my own style. But you can not draw Spiderman in blocky method. I decided to make some changes in other places.

Avengers Assemble

I thought to myself that little Batman drawing came out really well. What if instead of doodling I attempted a full on super hero rendering, using all the proper design drawing methods. I had never drawn the Avengers even when I was child and drew comics all the time. I did a quick small thumbnail that came out alright but I knew I could do better so I laid it out one more time for a full on marker rendered drawing of the Avengers.

Batman and Villains

Once again a week passed and then I started sketching Batman again! It started as thumbnail but became a full out rendering.

Star Wars and misc

A couple weeks passed and I kept drawing other things including the usual cars and products, then I randomly draw a guys head on a horse shaped body and I decided I should draw Star Wars character with animal bodies.

Batman and Wolverine

It started with a casual pen sketch of Batman as no legged dog toy shape. I try and Batman all the time, I love Batman. Once Batman came out pretty good I also tried Wolverine. Both were orginally drawn in ball point pen.

Once I had the basic sketch and pen rendering I decided to add marker next.

Pop Culture Sketching

I have been sketching lots of cool figures, animals and fun character themes for dog toys recently. I decided I wanted to transition that into some pop culture drawings. I have always been a huge comic book, video game and sci-fi fan. Much of this inspiration is why I went into a creative field. I took some of the drawing styles I have been using for toy sketches and I have translated them into my own versions of famous pop culture icons. I will post some that work in several posts.

Videos from the US Vintage Grand Prix at WGI

My Qualifying lap and the fastest lap I have ever run at WGI, to put me 5th on the grid and first in class:

Then the first Qualifying race in which I started 4th for, I made 2 mistakes one on the start where I tried the outside and one in the S's where I missed 5th gear, but I fought back very hard and ended up 8th:

Feature Race 1 was uneventful on semi-wet track early in the morning and I was under the weather, I finished 8th overall and first in class:

Feature Race 2 was delayed due to a wet and oiled track. My GoPro ran out of space. But I ended up finishing 5th overall and winning my class:

The LEGO® Story

I am first a LEGO lover and I often credit LEGO for my love of toys and toy design. As a product designer and toy designer this in one of the most incredible films I have ever seen. The video is beautifully animated and fun to watch but the content is also amazing. It first shows many different manufacturing techniques from early wood manufacturing to the birth of plastic injection molding (what almost everything is made out of now). And last it shows how through entrepreneurship a small family business can become one of the greatest toys ever invented.

T-Rex Rules

Everyone is always telling the T-Rex he cant clap and he cant do push-ups well the T-Rex and I put together a series of stills to show what the T-Rex can do. It did not work out quite like T-Rex would have liked as you can see. But then he remembered that he is the King.

Summer 2012

It has been fun and busy summer. The lack of posts is due to travel. When I am not traveling I am working and what I am working I can not share with the world yet. Hopefully soon, because one of the projects sits here at my office and stares at me and wants to be shared, but not yet.

As for racing posts and car posts most can be found on my other website that I run with buddies www.fastandrare.com

I will post some of the videos from the first races of the year soon. Until then enjoy my TREX cartoon series!

Thats racing!

I made it one session before the car broke. The motor went off song during the first practice session. I was just getting up to speed, feeling out the new pavement. I was definitely not going fast. Here is the video.

After going through the majority of the carburetor jets, the valve springs and spark plugs we could not get the car to run correctly. It was discovered by the motor builder on Monday that locking screw #28 in the diagram below loosened and let the venturi #22 move so it did not get optimal air and gas flow and it bogged the motor down.

As the title as oh well that is racing.

First race of 2012

And guess what is a SCCA Majors Invitational which is new racing program SCCA has introduced. I am not sure how this weekend is going to go; but as long as the car runs well and take care of my stuff and remain calm I think it will be a good weekend.

The race is being held at Pueblo Motorsports Park in Colorado. I have driven this track a few times. I am not sure I have finished a race here, but we will change that this weekend. On the other hand my dad has been driving this track since I was 6. Guess what again, we are racing against each other in the same car in the same class. Have I set up up enough drama yet for this race weekend? Well I need to add one more thing. Two weeks ago my dad was racing there with his girlfriend in RMVR (Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing). He took pole and won his race. His girlfriend was wrecked on the last lap in the last corner of her race and not a very pretty wreck either. So BFDracing has already written of one car this season. Add on top of all of this, PMP was just repaved and no one really knows the best line anymore because they changed parts of the track. And some of the best FP racers in the country are coming out for the event. So how do I think I will do.

If you have ever read any of racing posting before there is 2 motto's I live by in racing: 1) You can lose more than you can win, 2) Be Smooth, Be Calm and Have Fun!

Here is the car I will driving, I have won 4 SCCA Nationals races in this car. I LOVE IT

Here is the track I am racing:
